August 26 is known as Women's Equality Day, this year marking the 102nd anniversary of the certification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution granting women suffrage. This year also marks the 58th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, protecting everyone's right to vote, including Black, Latina, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and women of all backgrounds.
In celebration of this year's Women's Equality Day, please join us on August 25 to celebrate the victories of six women who ran for and won Montgomery County Council seats in the Democratic Primary. If/when they win in November, we will have six women on the County Council, a majority and a milestone.
We hope to have this event recorded for those who cannot attend. If so, will share link at a future date.
